Can the actuator be tested outside of the machine using a multi-meter?
Answer Hello Frank. Yes, you can test for power tot he shifter. Also, Motor Resistance
2k to 3.5k ohms on the shifter. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I have a Whirlpool Washer, the last laundry cycle the washer did not spin, and when I started the cycle over the motor moved like it wanted to start, but didn't . Thanks!!
Answer Avioneta, The actuator / shifter assembly W10006355 is the most likely issue with the washer, and the best place to start. This device determines if the motor will run, and in which part of the cycle to perform (wash or spin) by shifting the "splutch' and activating the agitate shaft or the spin shaft in the gear case.
