I am working on a Kenmore washer model #110.21102011, it is acting erratic. In the wash cycle sometimes it will agitate for 15 minutes and sometimes only 4. In the rinse cycle it only puts in about half the water as it should. I replaced the main board with no change. Any ideas?
Answer Hello Jim,
You will need to run the on-board diagnostic tests to determine where the issue is originating. This is fully explained in the tech sheet which is in a zip-lock baggy adhered to the inside of the front panel of the cabinet. There are a lot of useful instructions in it that will guide you to the problem.
Machine will fill and drain. Tries to sensor and wash, rinse, or spin but tub will not move. Makes a noise like it is trying to move but doesn't. Will go thru the timed cycle filling and draining water but will not agitate or spin. Checked the belt and it is fine.
Answer Hello Beth,
You should put the unit into the diagnostic mode as per the tech sheet in the plastic bag taped to the inside of the front panel of the washer. If it will not go into the diagnostic mode, the board is considered by the manufacturer as a bad board. Be aware that the unit will be hard to get into the diagnostic mode so you should practice several times and possibly have someone read them to you while you attempt to get it into this mode. I would actually suspect either the lid switch W10404050 or the shift actuator W10006355 on this design.
