How does a shift actuator work for a washer?
Answer Hello Anthony. This device determines if the motor will run, and in which part of the cycle to perform (wash or spin) by shifting the "splutch' and activating the agitate shaft or the spin shaft in the gear case.
The tub bangs against the sides very violently for a few seconds then seems to settle down and be fine. The cloths are even in the tub so they are not causing an off balance spin. This is causing the top plastic part on top of the tube to break up.
Answer Hello Ted,
If the unit is spinning and you raise the lid, if the spin basket continues to spin, the spanner nut may be loose and the drive block will need to be replaced. If not, make sure the saline solution is still in the spin basket, (sounds like water in it). If it still have the water in it and the spanner nut was tight, you will need to replace the suspension rods, kit number W10349191 for all four.
