My dryer will not turn on. My multimeter says there is no continuity in my thermostat. However it does not turn on. It stopped running in the middle of a drying cycle, and will not start. I purchased a new thermostat. It tested bad for continuity. Does the thermostat need continuity? Possibly a different part.

Latest Questions

Am attempting to replace the cycling thermostat that is located on the duct housing. The original thermostat (which has 3 wires) is discontinued, but has been replaced by a new thermostat (which has 2 wire connections, but comes with 2 short red accessory wires with 2 yellow wire connectors in a "kit" . . . but no instructions). Can you tell me exactly how the 2 wires and wire connectors are to be used to make the new thermostat work in a DE312? Thank you :).

My dryer won't work. Did the troubleshooting and purchased the thermal fuse along with the operating thermostat. Part 660039 , which has 4 prongs, has been replaced with Part 694674, which has only 2 prongs. What do I do with the two violet wires? This part is totally different from original.....confused!
