The agitator on my machine is no longer functioning properly. The part moves during the wash and rinse cycles but it twists and and wrings the clothes into knots. I was expecting dogs in the agitator to be worn but I don't see those as a part on my washer. My tub is extremely unbalanced as well shifting to the back right of the cavity. Maybe suspension springs or the pads probably.... What are your thoughts?

The agitator on my Kenmore washing machine is not agitating. I was about ready to order new "dogs" (directional cogs) or an agitator repair kit, but after looking at a video to see how to pull the agitator assembly out of the washer I see that the 7/16th inch bolt has broken off. Any suggestions on how to get the bolt out?

Latest Questions

Great Videos I am having an agitator issue where The plastic cam container with the attached spring has a hole on the side from the screw rubbing up against the container wall the washer is all chewed up from the bolt not seated in the shaft and believe the bolt backed out due the blue thread seal is gone off of the bolt thread. so each time i think the bolt is tightened down i fill the washer it will agitate the upper but the bolt becomes loose even though it is not stripped anywhere along the thread noticing the bolt is submerged in water inside the agitator..agitator would work for 15 seconds before it would stop ..is there any thing needed on the shaft inside where that bolt screws down into i didnt notice visible threads there...so I will need a bolt with t hat threaded seal and the repair kit do I need that piece to lock down the dogs for this particular unit' Thanks

Hi, hope your day is going ok, I replaced the dogs on my whirlpool stackable washer. Since there is a lot of plastic going on here, how tight should the agitator bolt be?

In delicate cycle spin it made a loud sludge hammer noise and it shook like crazy. It washes great but when the spin cycle starts to increase in speed it acts like it's very off balance, so we have to shut it down...ring by hand, and hang out to drip dry...it rains almost every day so...HELP!!!! We found two pins that were in little clear catcher cases, so I reinstalled them and use cottor pins to hold them in place. When we put things back together it was better, but still shakes rattles and rolls in spin cycle...HELP...still washed great, but still had to ring them out by hand. Diane
