the existing agitator bolt comes with a washer which has a new shape (i.e. it is tapered perhaps due to years of being in place. I recently purchased an agitator kit (cam, dogs, thrust washer, o ring and there is this small o ring which seems to be for the bolt. there were no instructions. Do I replace the old rubber washer, which seems fine, with this new one? and what pieces require petrolum jelly?
thanks

Answer Richard, The "O" ring, won't be necessary if you use the new agitator bolt 358237 ( you should use it, it's an "upgrade"). as for the "vaseline" you will use it to lubricate both sides of the "dogs" 80040 and the thrust washer 285587and cam assembly, so they move freely. Thanks,
my washer is level and when it go on spin it will jump all over the place could the agitator bolt be loose.

Answer John, A loose agitator bolt would not be the issue, it could be loose, but shouldn't cause a washer to shake and vibrate. Are you sure the washer is level and the floor under the washer is solid, and the feet are all "locked" in place. You will need to remove the washer cabinet and check all the centerring springs 285901, slide pads 285219 and frame and plate for damage or wear and tear. Thanks and Good Luck
