My Whirlpool washer model# WTW57ESVWI, agitator has lifted up about an inch and a half and won't wring out the clothes. I can't get it back down. Is there a way to fix it?
Linda P.
Answer Hello Linda,
The agitator hasn't raised up but the inner tub has dropped. The spanner nut under the agitator has loosened and the tub has settled on the drive block, wallowing the center hole in the inner tub out too large for the drive block to properly support the tub. The drive block 389140 and the inner tub W10389328 will probably have to be replaced to correct the issue.
My agitator spins directions the top part and the bottom part and my washer is leaking water only during the spin cycle. I purchsed a repacement kit for the upper agitator but wondered about the bottom one. I also wondered if the pump could be the problem for the water leak. Can you advise me?
D.j. for Model Number LSQ8243HQO
Answer Hi D.J. Block your unit up w a sturdy paint can or a couple of 4x4 wood blocks. Look up under the unit at the front of the pump. In the center area it is common that they begin to wear out through the front. Pump part # 3363394. If you see the motor coupler has begun to wear out and there is black rubber and plastic parts under the center. The motor coupler is part # 285753A. Thank You.
This washer when it goes into the spin cycle the agitator tries to stop like it is coming out of gear and making a popping sound.

Answer Hello Boomtown. Check and see if the drive block 389140 is broke or bad. If not, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the transmission 3360629 is bad and will need to be replaced. Thanks.
