Answer Hello Bobby, The double agitator cannot be replaced by a single agitator.

When the machine is agitating, I can lightly grab on to one of the bottom fins and stop the agitator from moving. Once I let go it starts moving again. Do I need the complete agitator assembly or something that is under the agitator assembly? I can not tell from the exploded view what the agitator assembly connects to.

Answer Hello John. If you can stop the bottom of the agitator, you need to remove it and see if the splines are stripped out. If not, the transmission is bad and will need to be replaced. If the part you stop is the top part of the agitator, you need to replace the cam kit 285811.

These is whirlppol washer machine.The agitator have two parts, the top and botton. Ok the top part don't works when is washing cloths only the botton pat works. Can yow tell me whats the problen is thanks.
