My freezer temp is 0 degrees, Refer is 41 degrees. Leafy produce in crisper freezes . Is it the damper?
Answer Doug, Probably not. It sounds more like an air flow issue, not a temperature problem. Check and make sure both doors close and seal properly to the cabinet flange(especially along the bottom of the doors). Check and make sure there are no articles hanging over the sides of the shelves or against the back wall of the compartment, this traps the cold air down low and can cause the crispers to freeze. Check the top shelf, make sure there's nothing tall or bulky setting in front of the damper vent in the left rear top corner. Something in front of the vent can cause the air from the damper to be directed down the back or side wall(s) and cause the crisper area to become too cold. The lower area of the refrigerator, is usually 2 or 3 degrees colder than the upper area of the compartment, cold air migrates down, if the air gets trapped and can't flow properly, you'll notice that the crispers and lower shelves have a tendency to freeze.
