I have an Amana, Mod.alw480daw, Ser, #s0112124881 that is very loud on spin cycle. What bearing and seal kit do I need for this unit. Also when you remove the large nut, does the hub also screw off, or pull off

Bearing is loud and tub is leaking at the bearing. I think I need part #'s PS2040726 bearing & PS2174555 Drive belt seal kit. I am confused by the serial # mine is 12491872AP is that the right seal kit?

Answer Hello Joe, The R9900457 hub and seal kit will have all the necessary components to change out the tub seal. The bearing is a separate part from the kit but would be a good idea to install new hub and seal kit along with the bearing 40004201P.

How do I get the aluminum hub off the transmission shaft? Have removed the locking nut and spline insert but cannot get the hub off that the lint filter bolts too. It is frozen in place, tried vineger and heat but it will not budge. Prying does not help. appears to be a metal washer on top the aluminum mount plate.

Answer Hello Darryl. You may need to use a cold chisel and cut the hub R9900457 off the shaft if it is stuck on there. Be careful not to damage the transmission or damage the tub.

I have an Amama, leaks water through the Hub Seal, I want to order AP4253876, I took my machine apart and the old seal has a spring and a plate under the spring that make contact with the outter drum base. Is this the right parts?
