Answer Joe, The diode, if bad would not work at all. You would want to replace magnetron but it is not necessary to replace diode.

Answer Hello Tom. The magnetron W10126786 should read less than 1 ohm, the diode should only read in one direction, and the capacitor should spike and slowly drop down to 0. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Answer Hello Louie. Once you access the magnetron W10126786, you will see the diode DE91-70063D. It attaches to the capacitor and goes down to the frame of the unit. They are not hard to replace. You need to remove the outer cover of the microwave to access the magnetron and the diode. Hope this helps.
