Is Tall Baffle #33001004 the correct one for my dryer? What screws and washers do I need?
Answer Hello Ellen. No the correct baffle for your model would be Part# 137552900, and the screws would be part# 131382300 two are needed for each baffle.
Two tall baffles were loose and broke off. How do I access the drum to replace them? The lint filter on my Maytag model LDE8414ACE is inside the dryer. The video only shows a dryer with the lint filter on the top.
Answer Ferd, Your Maytag dryer is slightly different. Remove power to the dryer fist. Remove the front panel, remove two(2) Phillips head screws in the detent area of the panel, and swing the panel out at the bottom until the retainer clips release from the top panel. Label and disconnect the wires from the door switch, and set the panel aside, out of the way. You may want to lay a towel or similar article on top of or over the heater cone assembly( to reduce scratches and cuts) slowly turn the tumbler so the broken baffle is aligned to the right front corner of the dryer base panel (4 or 5 o'clock position). Use a 1/4 inch drive ratchet wrench. with a 5/16 inch socket. With the tub/baffle at the 4 or 5 o'clock position there's room to set the wrench and socket on the baffle mounting screw and remove / replace it.
How do you replace a baffle on the inside of the drum?
Answer Hello elleydawgg. Lift the top of the dryer and use the baffle screws to secure the baffle inside the tub assembly. If the screws are missing, you can order new screws Y310759.
