maytag washer LAT2500AAE. followup to previous emails replaced brake assembly to a no spin problem. no luck. took off belts. turned pulley counter clockwise-agitator turned easily. clockwise-after extreme effort, spin basket turned a little. then no more. never really checked the radial bearing. it was clean with no rust. could i have installed brake assembly wrong. no clear picture in downloaded manual. rounded/dome side of trans/pulley bearing if facing brake.

We have what appears to be thin oil and water mix type of leak, when I tipped the machine over and inspected the brake area I noticed it looked more like melted grease from the lower bearing,so I removed the pulley and indeed the lower bearing was a mess, and was slinging grease everywhere. I took the front cover off and inspected the underside of the tub and did see some water streaks, my question is, how deep and what seals do I need to solve the water leak issue?

We have ignored the turbo prop plane sound during the spin cycle for a long time. Today it stopped spinning altogether. I opened the back and found the belt off the pully and motor and wear marks in the tub (not yet through the plastic) where the pully and/or belt have been rubbing against the tub. The pully also rotates front to back. When I put the belt backing it won't stay and pulls the pully against the tub. Can you tell me what I need to fix this? Im handy and open to replacing the front and rear bearings in the tub. Will just replacing the front and rear bearings get everything back in alignment? Will I also need a new belt and pully? Thanks for your help!

I have confirmed my noise issue being the main bearing above the clutch, but in removing the trans. assy I spilled all the oil(mustard colored, very thick)out of top of trans. Because I had removed the agitator shaft. My question is what type of gear oil and how much do I refill it with?

MAking very loud roaring noise during spin cycle. Removed both tubs and activated spin cycle, still hearing noise, sounds like the main bearing under the trans. above clutch/brake. How do I remove and replace if this sounds like the problem?
