My Duet washer WFW9150 is damaging garments. I have found a tear & part of the bellow edge is missing. It is not leaking though. Garments seem to be caught in an area during spinning. Please advise if this would cause it & if anything else should be checked/replaced.
Answer Hello Jessica,
If the unit is not leaking it will not harm the unit to use it like this but if articles of clothing are hanging up in the area, the clothing can cause more damage to the door boot. I would feel around the front edge of the spin basket for rough spots and if you find any, use a piece of sandpaper to smooth it out. If no rough spots are located, you should consider replacing the door bellows W10381562 to prevent damage that can occur if it were to leak on the motor control board.
I just watched the video and I am wondering if it is necessary to remove the top of the washer to change the bellows. My dryer is on top of the washer and I don't know how I would be able to get it down. They are both in a really small closet also.
Answer Hello Beth,
I'm sorry but in order to get the control panel off, the top has to come off. In addition, the control panel has to come off to get the front panel off. You will have to get someone to assist you in getting the dryer down and if needed, to get the unit out of the closet.
