No spinning, agitation and water at the bottom of tub, so I opened the back and found the belt off and alot of black dust. The belt was not in bad shape, the pulley was wobbly. And when I reinstalled the belt, the belt would tend to rub against the tub and eventully not stay on. Should I replace the pulley and the belt?

Latest Questions

2 years ago got f-06 error, replaced motor, motor controller and harness between controller and motor. Now I am not getting any error when running diagnostic mode, tub spins up fast and quiet, with a load the washer makes a growling noise and ramps up very slow, does not seem to get to high spin. I ordered a new belt to see if it is slipping. What else do you think it could be? Unit is 8 years old.

I have had this front load washer for about 7 years with no maintenance other than my wife's ritualistic cleaning of the seal etc. to keep it smelling clean. It operates normally but, when beginning to spin and when slowing down it has a horrible knocking noise that varies due to speed. The washer is level and on a slab surface so I know it has to do with a worn out component. I am getting a belt and would like to know what additional items I should get. By the way my wife uses it at least twice a day everyday. It has had a hard life but she loves it.

My belt has been falling off and now it has snapped. When I put the belt back on the pulley, before it snapped, it seemed to track toward the tub and not stay in line. I noticed that the belt has ridges that fit with the motor pulley and the tub pulley has no ridges. Also, I checked the tub pulley and motor pulley, both seem to be firmly attached. Other than the obvious need for a new belt, is there anything I can do to get this belt to track properly so I do not have to continuously replace it? This will be the second belt this washer has eaten in two years.
