When the compressor comes on, after a few seconds there is a noise that sounds like a fan blade hitting something. After a few more seconds it stops. It doesn't do it all the time, but seems more pronounced at night (of course quiet time, sleeping). Looking at the compressor diagram it looks like the fan is separate from the fan blade, being held on with a nut. Can this come loose? The refrigerator is in tight spot with very little room to work. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Answer Hello Jack, The fan blade can come loose, but it is more likely to be an item in the fan blade. I would check carefully to be sure the fan that is making contact isn't the one on the inside. It is rather common to have a frost/ice build-up that the fan blade in the freezer compartment contacts and makes a similar noise as you mentioned.

How does the refrigerator portion of the unit get it's cooling air? Does the evap. fan blow it over there? My freezer side seems to work fine, but the refrig. side does not cool properly!

Answer Hi Duane. Is the evap. fan motor running? Part # 61004888. Is their any frost build up on the back lower freezer wall? Defrost thermost/Heater is part #61006199. The defrost control board is part 61005988. The damper is part # 61005989. Any of these will cause an issue, but most commonly is frost build up on the fzr. back wall. Thank you.
