When I press the start button, the machine just blinks 2h for about 30 seconds then shuts off. Is it the control board or something else?

Dishwasher started not completing cycles (mostly just Normal) and leaving dishes with a filmy look. Discovered the other day that the soap dispenser door did not open (and so I guess hasn't been opening maybe). The latch handle was broke so ordered a new assembly and replaced - still stopped short during the cycle. Today I was able to test more thoroughly and tried just a Light cycle. Started at 82 minutes and when it was down to 68 it started having problems. Would completely stop (with no lights at all on panel) and then start again, go back to 69 and after getting to 68 or 67 a few more times before stopping and starting again I finally cancelled. Found a tech manual on the net and tried running a few of the tests. The Manual test indicated all motors working - although I couldn't tell about the soap dispenser (is it supposed to open if it's closed?). Demo mode worked fine. But when I ran the Field Service Test it aborted after it appeared to start the "Wash Motor/Heater/Vent Wax Motor" part. Everything just went black - no lights, no LED indicators, no "88" anymore. It did pop open the dispenser door with this test though. I'm thinking this may be an indication that I need to replace the control board - any suggestions? Any other things to consider that may have caused it to just stop like that? Thank you!

Opened the unit to change the latch and handle. After reassembly the front control panel starts the dishwasher only in a drain cycle. No functions light as far as load. Opened the unit up again. The latch is good and the two micro switches have been tested to be good as well. The unit is getting proper A/C voltage. The control panel ribbon pulled out of the control board, however, The ribbon doesn't look damaged and it locks into the control board fine. Any further testing suggestions?

Latest Questions

For several weeks, this dishwasher has stopped in the drying cycle with the number 9 flashing as if the door has been opened. Occasionally it will not respond to commands that are entered, and has on at least twice not dispensed soap when running the cycle. over the last several years I have replaced the door handle assembly and the front panel assembly. I am now wondering if the controller board is the cause of these new issues , and or what other parts may need replacing. Thanks

Hi - Paul again. I neglected to mention that according to one of the previous questions asked, your rep stated that so long as the water was pumped down to at or below the screw heads of Part Number: AP4502405, that all was working correctly. Ours does not do so. The water is approx. 1-1/2" above those screws. As I mentioned, if we start a cycle, then immediately hit the cancel button, it does pump all the water out - or at least down to the aforementioned level. Any ideas? Thanks - Paul
