If the damper stays open all the time would that cause food to freeze in refrigerator? When I taped it shut the temperature rose somewhat to about 33 degrees. Door still says 46 degrees.

Food is freezing in refrigerator. Temp set at highest (46 degrees) Inside temp stays at 28 degrees or less. Shoved rags in damper control slots to no avail. Do I need a new HV board?

My refrigerator stopped cooling/Freezing, the compressor is not turning on, there is no sound, however the lights are on in the inside, but not on the front outside door panel, what could cause this to happen, we tried changing out the Start Dev., but that didn't solve the problem

My refrigerator has suffered through several electricity outages within the past month. Problem first started after electricity went out and when it came back the front panel was blank and the unit was not cooling/freezing. The lights inside were functioning. Pressing the panel would see everything lighting up and a beeping noise. Two hours later the refrigerator started working normally and was ok until the electricity went out again about a week later. Subsequent outages resulted in the same thing. Sometimes the panel would start flashing before it came back and beeped when pressed. While flashing the water would function as it went on and off and sometimes so would the light. Sometimes a clicking noise can be heard when flashing. Unfortunately it takes longer and longer to start back working after each outage. It went from 2 hours to 4 to 8 to 24 hours. The current record is 30 hours and counting and I don't think its coming back this time. I was convinced it was just the front panel but last resurrection I heard a clicking noise while flashing more from the back as the cooling engaged and disengaged. It was ok again for after that until the electricity went again yesterday. I've been advised that both boards, front and back, should be changed but neither tech examined either part internally because it's always functional when they get here. Help!
