Is Maytag part # 12106802 a replacement part for Whirlpool part # AP4133848? If not what is the difference?
Answer Hello Jack! No, 12106802, our part number 12106802, is not a replacement to part number D7821901. They have different connections. Thanks!

This is an Amana SXDE27QE side-by-side Refrigerator/Freezer. The control board in question has a new part number. Evidently the original board had some kind of modification or something. Part Number 12106802 (AP4010827) replaces 12106802, 12106801, 10627301, 12106801, 10627301. The board was ordered and received and look identical with one exception. There are three relays at the far end. The center or largest one, which has two electrical plugs on it, is located differently causing the original wiring configuration to stretch tightly. Other than that, everything is identical. After wiring the board and energizing the refrigerator, all controls on the front of the refrigerator seam to work. the lights inside the refrigerator worked but the compressor, compressor fan and evaporator fan would not come on and, a door open alarm light, stayed on whether or not a door was open. I believe the board is not working correctly. My question is; are there any modifications to the new board which require the wires to plug in in a different place than originally? or is everything plugged in exactly the same as the original board? If everything is exactly like original, than which plug goes where on the relay sense they are not lined up the same as original? If you can give me any additional information in this board and its differences and maybe a wiring diagram to ensure that this is wired the same it would be appreciated. Thanks Daniel
Answer Hello Daniel,
I researched the issue and could find nothing on the issue you are having. I would recommend to leave it on for at least 45 minutes to ensure the board isn't in the defrost mode. If this doesn't correct the issue, call in for a return authorization and try another board. Since this cross has been in effect for some time now and no other complains of this nature have been reported, I would have to assume that you received a bad new part. Call us at 1-877-477-7278 and set up a part return authorization so we can send you a new replacement part.
