One of the two fluorescent lights on range hood is not working. I have tried replacing both the bulb and starter - neither fixed the light. Would the next step be to replace the ballast?
Answer Pat, " Would the next step be to replace the ballast? Yes, replacing the ballast would be the next step. Your vent hood has a separate ballast for each light bulb(according to the wiring diagram). Also recheck the light bulb receptacle, make sure there is the tension on the contacts when the bulb is installed and locked in place.
The unit was working well for ten years. Without warning, as we pulled the tray out yesterday for use there was no power to the light and blower. What part(s) need replacement? Thanks for the help
There are 2 switches on the left side of the unit where the tray pulls out. You will want to check the switches W10240604 to make sure that they are good. If not then they would need to be replaced. If they check ok then the most likely cause for failure would be the control board W10349739.
