Replacing the oven broil/heating element (#9750967): The screws that hold the heating element to the back wall of the oven are rusted and won't unscrew. How do I get them to break loose?

Latest Questions

We turned our Kitchenaid Superba on this morning an noticed that it took forever for the temperature to rise. I have checked the broiler element and it was cold and the bake element was not very warm either. Do these elements work together on the bake cycle? What are the possible reasons for this happening. Is it a simple as replacing the broiler element or more complicated. What would be the steps to take to fix our problem?

Thanks for the answer to my previous question. Since then we ordered both the broiler element and hidden bake element. The new broiler element works perfectly now. Unfortunately the hidden bake element does not. The old bake element was definitely bad when we tested it and had visible damage. Any idea of what else we can try to get the new hidden bake element to work? Thanks.

About a year ago the inner part of the broil element stopped working so we stopped using the broiler. I did notice that it seemed to take longer for the oven to heat up when baking after that. Now when I put the oven to bake it won't heat up. The only thing that seems to be working is the outer edge of the broil element. Does this mean that we need to replace the bake and broil elements? Also are they both accessible from the back of the unit? Thanks.
