When I try to use the broil function the display panel shows that is selected and (high or low broil) nothing happens. How can I tell if it is the element or the conbtrol panel? No error code shows on the control panel?
Answer Alan, The best way is to use a multi meter TJMA-DM1 and remove power to the range, remove the oven door and racks. Remove the two screws that attach the element assembly to the back wall and the screws that attach the element supports to the oven ceiling. Slide the element out until the element terminals clear the wall, disconnect one wire and place the meter leads across the terminals, you're looking for a "closed" circuit. Reattach the wire, place the meter probes across the terminals of the element, you have to be careful, you don't want anything to short out, reapply power to the range, program the broil cycle and check for 220 to 240 VAC across the element terminals, 0 to 120 VAC, would indicate a damaged wire from the ERC, or a faulty ERC 8507P233-60.
