Smell of gas from top left burner when stove is off. Im thinking of replacing the valve. Which valve?
Answer Phil, Replacing the gas valve would be a good place to start. Presumably you mean the left rear burner on the cooktop. this should be a 9.2K BTU burner and valve. The appropriate replacement gas valve should be the 12002269 Burner Control Valve.
Hi, 1) I am looking for a gas valve for the stove top, rear left burner. I think there is a series consideration. Which Part number please.
2) Ignitor for stovetop seems to be bad. What are the most common items to consider replacing. Serial number 12396616ce Thanks, Ed
Answer Edward, Based on the model and serial number you supplied, the left rear burner on your range should be a "medium" 9.2K BTU burner. The corresponding burner control valve should be 74007384. Before you replace anything, check and make sure the burner base and cap are not dirty, corroded, damaged or chipped. That the correct burner cap is installed on the proper burner and the igniter and area around the igniter are also clean and debris free. The more common issue for top burner ignition issues is the spark module 12001596 .
