When the start button is pushed, all it does is make a buzzing sound. Sometimes it would catch and start. Now it wont catch. After pushing the button several times it smells and wont do anything. After it sits for awhile, it will do the buzzing thing again. Any answers??

nothing turns on when i push start button,wall breaker is fine ,it's plugged in and door switch is activated by closed door. could this be a thermal fuse problem in that motor does not turn over when a power switch activated?

Answer Doug, Very good, Yes an open thermal fuse 40113801 , will break the neutral leg of the power supply, and the dryer will not start,run or do anything. You'll need to circuit test the fuse, or bypass it (for test only) and replace it. Good Luck and Thanks

Answer Hello Al. The start button send power to the switch on the motor to start the motor. If the timer is not working correctly, it shouldn't be involved with the push to start switch. If the machine is not starting, then the push to start may be bad. You will need to test it to confirm this. Hope this helps.
