The Samsung washer works fine but the water will not always fill the fabric softener cup to dispense it. Any help would be great
Answer Randy, You want to start by checking and cleaning the water inlet hose and fill valve debris screens They can become restricted with sediment and reduce the water flow to the dispenser. If the water flow/pressure is too low or non existant, the dispenser won't fill properly and create the "syphon" effect to remove the softner and dispense it into the washer tub. You'll also want to remove the cup and caps from the dispenser drawer and ensure the tubes and openings are not clogged with residual softner, detergent, etc.
Would the detergent and rinse caps ever need to be replaced? Water overflowed from the dispenser drawer. I checked all hoses no leaks or clogs, nothing clogged in the water inlet, but when I removed the detergent cap the problem stopped, do these caps affect the water flow?
Answer Dino, Unless there is a crack or missing cap, there should be no reason to replace them. They can and do get clogged with debris and detergent and softner and need to be cleaned out(soak in hot water and clean debris out), and make sure the cap is not pressed down too fat on the syphon tube. You also need to check and make sure the hose and valve screens are not clogged with debris from the plumbing pipes, proper water supply is essential for the dispenser to operate properly. Good Luck and Thanks
