The capacitor in my unit is round and has 4 terminals. The capacitor listed as the replacement one has 8 terminals and is oval. Can the oval one replace the existing round one? If so, how do I determine which terminals to use?
Answer Hello George,
The capacitor in a microwave is a speciality part designed to withstand high voltages, (in some cases up to 50KV). It is not advised to use a part in a microwave oven that is not designed for this application as it will create an electrical shock/fire hazard. The only part that can be used is the part the manufacturer recommends.
