vent motor just hums. is this a cap start motor. manual rotating and it will run. is the capacitor #3 for the vent motor. Thanks,Jon
Answer Jon, Yes part # 3 DE59-50002A would be the start capacitor for the ventilation motor. And here's some test information for the motor and capacitor. "Ventilation Motor - Discharge Capacitor Remove two wires to run capacitor and measure resistance across the wires...Approx. 75 O. (Tests all 3 windings.) Vent Blower Motor (run) Capacitor - Discharge Capacitor Remove one wire from capacitor terminals and connect ohmmeter. Set on highest resistance scale. Between Terminals: Meter should momentarily indicate several ohms, then return to infinity (deflection). If no deflection occurs, or if continuous deflection occurs, replace capacitor. Terminal to Case: Infinite resistance."
