My 8" burner is not working. I switched it with another and the burner is working. The light comes on when I turn the knob. How do I know it's the wire ceramic connector that is bad?

I need to replace the wires from the terminal block to the element receptacles. Apparently the wire was incorrectly routed. Except for the exposed conductors the unit is functional. Is the wire available?
