Answer Hello Ralph. I strongly recommend against modifying the design by leaving out the chopper blade assembly. Without the blade, small food particles will clog the screen. I recommend replacement of the pump seal kit 6-919539 which will provide you with the proper ridges which mesh with the chopper balde for normal operation. Hope this helped!
