The chopper fell apart when I removed it to clean it, and now I can't get the cap to stay on. Nothing is broken, it just won't stay in place. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to purchase a new one?
Answer Claire, The chopper assembly and screen are pre formed and trimmed to fit a specific way in the chamber opening. " Remove the screw securing the foreign objects protector to the sump base and remove the protector. Remove the screw securing the inlet protector to the pump base and lift the inlet protector out. Remove the chopper assembly from the impeller shaft and lift it from the sump
base" . You'll need to remove the protector and recheck the chopper and screen for damage, or misshaping and replace the chopper as necessary.
Is the chopper shaft and screen all one piece? My chopper shaft is disconnected from the screen.
Answer Hello Dennis,
The chopper and screen are connected by the plastic shaft. So, the answer to your question is yes. The chopper and screen are one part W10083957.
How do you re-install the lower spray arm? I'm thinking there is a correct way to line it up before tightening the plastic turn knob.
Answer Hello Joe,
To reinstall the lower spray arm you would just sit the spray arm on flush and insert and tighten nut. The nut will keep it in place and if it is centered it will not wobble.
