IS THIS THE PART I NEED? I NEED THE VERY SMALL PLASTIC TIP THE CONNECTS THE DOOR AND THE DOOR FRAME. IN CLOSING THE DOOR IT CONNECTS THE TWO AND THE DISHWASHER IS ABLE TO BE TURNED ON.

Answer Barbara, I don't think the grounding clip [8316807] will solve your issue( pretty sure) It sounds more like you've got a broken door handle or interlock switch assembly issue or a damaged/broken door strike actuator. Most if all door latch components have been discontinued by the manufacturer 242414 242422 9740712 P-81218 B-116100 Hopefully, you will need a part that is available. Good Luck and Thanks
