A surface element is dead and I get a F-5 code reading . Will it be sufficient to replace the burner element will I also have to replace the clock assembly?

Answer Hi Claude. F5 Watchdog and hardware conflict Replace clock (ERC). Part # 12001603. Ohm out the bake element part # 74003019 and make sure it is not open (INfinity) Or shorted to chassis ground (one terminal at a time). Thank You.

Turned on the oven the other day like normal when there was a clicking sound followed by a bright flash. The teminal on the bake element looks fried and the broil element appers fine but does not turn on. Do I need part AP4008548 with the bake element to fix this problem. Also the clock works fine and the stove top works as well. There is a indicator light that reads ON when in bake or broil mode, cant remember seeing this light before.

Answer Hello Adam. Yes, if there is no power coming from the clock 12001603 to the elements, you will need to replace the clock assembly and the bake element in the unit. My heating element on the bottom blew out because of a hot spot and the clock display went with it. Stove tops continued to work. After installing new heating element and turning the breaker back on the clock display did not work. Is there a reset or fuse?

Answer Hi Kagey. Unfortunately there is no incoming fuse to the board on your model. The capacitors on the clock/control part # 12001603 have gone bad and is a common failure after some age. Did you have a storm or a black out during the time of failure ? Thank You.

Answer Hello Brian. Test the high limit 7403P160-60 and make sure it reads closed for continuity. Also, test the element, with the wires unhooked from the element, and make sure it reads closed for continuity. Does the clock assembly control the heating elements. I get 120 v to each side of the elements I turn the oven on it makes a click I will the get 240v on the top element but nothing on the bottom. I checked the element for continuity and that is fine. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
