SYMPTOMS (since October): - intermittent buzzing noise from compressor; gradually gets worse - 2 or 3 times freezer/fridge stopped cooling and got warm - 2 or 3 times freezer has frosted over behind panel (frost over coils) and had to be melted down TESTING/REPAIRS: - All diagnostics from the control panel buttons passed - defrost thermostat circuit result of "shorted" (closed) which apparently is a good thing? - Tested heating element with multimeter, still good - Melted the ice and replaced the defrost thermostat with a new one RESULTS: - Compressor still buzzing, incrementally worse - Freezer not frosting up behind panel yet, but freezer and fridge still very cold (or if compressor buzzes a lot and runs hot, they stop cooling) QUESTIONS: - Is this likely cause the defrost timer on the control (jazz) board, even though all the control diagnostics seem to pass? - Would the buzzing in the compressor be caused by this problem with the control not turning on/off the defrost cycle, or is it likely the compressor is going bad? Or both? Thank you!

I have a kitchenaid refrigerator M/N KBLS19KTSS01 and it's been icing up on me . I have replaced the defrost heater & defrost termination switch. The only item left is the defrost clock, my question is, is the defrost timer controlled by the main control module on this unit ? And if so, what is the part number ? Thank You for your help.

The defrost system is not functioning. Obviously, there are three components that may be at fault…CB, Thermistor or Heater, right? What is the simplest way to determine which is the culprit, short of replacing one at a time?

The evaporator keeps freezing up. The defrost heater and defrost thermostat both check okay. This leaves the defrost timer. I was told that the timer is part of the board in these models. Is this true and how do you replace it?
