We went to replace the heat element and there was a spark, now we have no electric to the stove, did we short something out, or do you think the control panel went?
Answer Hello Jim. If you didn't disconnect the power to the unit before removing the element, you shorted the control board and will need to replace the control board in the unit.
My control electric stop working with all the elements but still light in the oven. Changed the control electric in Dec.2010 .Do I need to change the control again?
Answer Hello Maria. You need to check and see if there is 240 volts coming to the unit and if there is any wires burnt or bad at the terminal block of the unit. The light will work on 120 volts, but nothing else will work in the heating. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
