The bottom heating element of top oven won't heat - replaced it with a new element. Still won't heat. All other lower oven, top oven broiler element and range top functions normally. I downloaded the parts list. I doubt it is the limit switch as the other top element works, etc. What are my next steps? Thanks!

Our ovens appear to be off by 25F consistently (i.e. if set to 350F a thermometer inside shows 320F), I've tested the Ohms on the Long Sensors and both appear to be within the +/- 10% range. Elements appear to be within 20-40 Ohms, though one tests at 15 Ohms. I have the owner's manual and can adjust the oven temp up to +/- 35F. My question: Is this indicative of a faulty control panel? The unit is almost 12 years old with no other issues.

Maytag Gemini does not have power to top ovens lower element. I have 240 at the receptacle and at the terminal block. When I test the votage at the element I get nothing? The element is new and good?

Latest Questions

I have 120 vac to the lower element on the top oven (the same with all the elements and testing 1 poll at a time and grounding the other probe) when they functions are off. When I set to turn that element on I test between the 2 polls on the element I should get 240 like I get on the top element but I get nothing 0 volts. I checked line voltage and it is normal 240??? the treminal block looks good as does the receptacle. I do not know how old this stove is it was here when we moved in 5 years ago. the ser # is16554978cn.

I have a maytag gemini I purchased the element for the top oven lower element and recieved it today and it does not work. I tested the voltage and even with the oven functions off there is 23 volts if I touch the lead i get 77 volts? when I set it to bake or toast ect... I get the same votage? now I'm not going to touch the lead to see what I get with it on! but I still get 23v the new and old element test good (I didn't have my meter when i ordered it) when I test the ohms. all other function work as they should infact the top element works just fine and will heat the oven up it just takes much longer to cook that way. so is this the control board? or some other problem? maybe a wire?
