Accidentally left broiler on for an hour. Turned it off, and cooled down the oven. A few hours later, it started beeping and F1 appeared on screen. It went away when I hit cancel, but now the up and down set buttons do not function and I cannot change the temperature or clock. (All the other buttons appear to still work) Did the oven overheating do damage, and if so, what part do I need to replace? Thanks in advance!

March 26/2014 ... started oven, set temp to 350F; timer to 45 minutes - error msg F1 came up (oven did start) ... Cancelled operation; re-did steps - still got F1 error - this happened 3 times - so I stopped. Pulled stove out from wall, unplugged it from the wall. Plugged it back in, set oven to 350F - no F1 error this time - but the oven does not start, same for the broiler burner. Took racks and bottom floor out of oven, watched both ignition units - they both will only glow orange / gold-orange (never goes white); the bake element takes 3 to 4 minutes to start flame ... the broil element takes 2-3 minutes. Is this an EOC, and ignition unit or some other component issue? Please help.

Is it possible to just replace the touchpad for cosmetic reasons? The board works fine, it appears its just adhesive holding it on and the ribbon cable easily is removed. Thanks in advance.

During a thunderstorm this morning, I think we had a power surge. The only thing that appears to have suffered is the Maytag stove. The control panel lights up with pieces of all the led's, and the oven turns on to heat up. I have tried pushing the various buttons but they don't do anything. I tried holding the control lock down for over three seconds. Does this mean I need a new control panel or is there something else I could try?
