I have a Magic Chef slide in electric range. The model number on the strove is 68FN4CXW. The range was purchased in 1988 and this model # does not show up when I have tried to locate parts for the stove. What I need is the bake element for the oven. Do have a part that would likely work? Also the old part has a ground wire that connects to the element. Is the ground wire important?

I experienced recently problem with the bake portion of my oven. Broil is ok. When I push the bake button and set the requested temperature it will work for a while (15-30 sec). The temperature will start like usual at 100°'s and climb a little bit and suddenly everything stops. Which part should be replaced? Oven bake element, oven temperature sensor or the control (elect. part AP4102784)? Thanks

We`ve had a repair person out 3 times to repair our gas range. At first the oven would ignite then run until it reached temp and would shut off, then not reignite to maintain temp. Then it would take 10 - 15 minutes to get it restarted and it would usually stay lit. Now the oven just does not ignite. I was not home at the time of the last repair but the tech said if this didn`t solve the problem we`d have to change out something else, and that would probably cost around $500 th $600 to fix. I`d rather buy a new range as it`s already cost me $500 for the first 2 trips. Well I`m not ready to throw in the towel yet, it just doesn`t seem like its something major... at least maybe not too difficult for me to repair on my own. Anything ring a bell, or should I just take a trip to home depot?
