Similar to the other fan question, the microwave WHEN IT'S COLD from either air leakage from the outside vent fan ducting or the room is cold, the 12v component cooling fan does not run initially. (I have the control panel open and tilted out, but still connected) The fan test good on the bench per the tech sheet instructions (9-12v source to the leads) If the room or the unit is warm, the 12v cooling fan works fine. The owners manual also states this unit has a variable speed cooling van that "runs slow" when the unit or room is cold. My problems is the fan doesn't run at all when cold and I get an F7 within 3-5 minutes. If I let the unit set, and try again, the fan works perfect after the magnetron heat warms the electronics cavity. Understanding the wiring and component layout, there is no separate THRERMISTER anywhere depicted on the diagram. Only thermal switches to protect the magnetron and the oven cavity and the hood fan. These all test good as well. This leads me to believe, component temperature must be sensed from the from a thermister on the logic board?? This morning it was cold and so was the unit, of course the cooling fan wouldn't run initially. Subsequently, I grabbed my heat gun, accessed the logic board and restarted the unit. I gently heated the upper board and within 5 seconds the cooling fan started and ran as designed. Rhetorical question, but I believe the logic board is junk! Thoughts?

Answer Hello Mark, You would be correct. The control board 8205421 has a bad solder joint that is causing the fan not to work.

I took out the right bad bulb for over the stove AND DID NOT unplug microw. The bulb shorted as the gals became unattaced with the barrrel as i unscrewed it. The dash went blank and the new bulb does not work. There is power, all fuses are working however no board. No over the stove or interior lights. What do I need to fix OR what did I miss?

Answer Hello Bill. You will need to replace the electronic control board 8205421 and make sure the power is disconnected when you do the repair and replace the bulb.

I replaced the inverter board the micro will heat now but the fan will run. I checked the motor and it will run. A repairman told me that I need a circuit board that will control the fan to cool the inverter board. Can you please tell me if thats true or I could have another problem?

Answer Hello Lawrence. If the control board is not sending power to the fan, you will need to replace the control board 8205421 in the unit. Hope this helps.
