We have a whirlpool duet. I recently replaced the water pump which lasted about a week before the f21 error code returned. I took it down and found a string(drawstring for warm up pants) blocking pump impeller. I grinned happily, pulled the string out, replaced the housing cover, started a rinse/spin to confirm operation. I then walked out of laundry room to brag to the wife about my washer repair prowess. One minor little problem.....this dumb*** forgot to reconnect the water hose on top of the pump. Naturally, when I heard water spraying all over everywhere, I ran back in and shut it down. Now, when you start a cycle, everything appears normal til you hit the start button. It then clicks and add a garment light comes on. Nothing happens after that til you disconnect AC power from it. Then it looks as if all is right, but it only clicks, lights add a garment.....rinse....repeat..Im assuming water got into the control module located on bottom. back right of cabinet? Any chance this dries and returns to duty?

Answer Steve, Based on the information provided, it would appear that you have shorted out the motor control board W10197864.

The door on my Duet Sport would not open, upon running diagnostic check got; F-24 water temp sensor, F-01 EEPROM error and F-21 Long Drain, in this order. The water temp sensor tested at 14.3 ohms (aprox. 70 degrees according to chart in service guide, with no water in tub. My assumption was ambient air temp). I cleared the drain filter Which did not have anything substantial clogging it and insured there was no obstructions or kinks in the line. I also tested the water level sensor at 0 ohms while under air pressure. The machine has been on the same power source for 1year now. There are no substantial fluctuations in current and I've had No power interruptions Or surges to point to for the problem. Washer is still not working and still producing the same codes. What should be my next step from here?

Answer Dave, based on your post and the error codes you've listed, you'll want to check the air dome hose 8540294 for kinks,twists and clogs. You can disconnect the tube from the pressure switch and check it, and blow in the end of the tube, to clear any debris or deposits in the hose. Then test the water level/pressure switch circuits at the PR6 connector on the CCU, that way you're checking the switch circuits and wiring all at once. Your post indicates an issue in the water level switch or wiring to the CCU.

The "User Interface" flashes really fast with a low tone. It is completely unresponsive. Sometimes it will not light up at all. Any ideas on what went bad?

Answer Cubone, You will want to check the wire harness from the control board to the user interface, making sure that you have good connection. If this checks ok then your user interface would be the problem.

Answer Hello Sunny, The F01 error code indiactes a Pump driver/Main Relay/EEPROM error. You will want to check for Loose power outlet, check to make sure unit is on a designated circuit. Make sure that the wire harness connections from the CCU are not broken or with wires detached. Make sure that all green wires are not broken or detached. Make sure that the 2 ground switches are pressed correctly by the toe and rear panels. Make sure all connectors are fully seated. Check for power going to the CCU by listening for a click in the CCU when unit plugged in. If problem persist and all checks ok then you will need to replace CCU.

I ordered a new control unit (W10246289) for my Duet, and the plastic mountng plate does not match the original. The new one has an 11/2 inch long round tab on the bottom right corner. Because of this I can't fully attache the upper tabs in the key holes o the machine. Can I cut off this tab, and be able to return it needed?

Answer Hello Brian, There would normally be a slot that the round piece would go into. You will want to plug into the machine to make sure that this is going to resolve problem before cutting the post off.

The machine has just had a new water pump installed which works fine. The machine has several symptoms.1) The wash or rinse cycle will complete and completely drain and then show a F21code. but only 1 cup of water is left in the drain at the filter. 2) Sometimes the washer will not fill water for a wash or rinse, but it will fill and perform a complete diagnostic cycle up to the spin and then show F21 but there is no water left in the machine because it has all pumped out. 3) The door has to be manually unlocked. The cancel button will only allow 1 press and not 2 to clear the code. I was only able to wash 1 load after installing the new pump. then the trouble began.There was no extra suds, no obstructions in the filter, pump or drain line. The F21 code always shows after all water is out and will not spin.

Answer Hello Alan, The first thing you want to check is the air dome hose to ensure that it is not clogged. You can pull it off and blow through it to make sure it is clear. If this is clear then you want to check the drain that connects to the tub. There is a check ball in it, you want to ensure that there is not lint or anything in it causing blockage. Double check filter to ensure that there is nothing in it causing clogging. If these things check ok then you will need to replace the pressure switch W10163980.
