Last year "normal wash" stopped halfway through giving 8-1 error (fill problem) Used instead "one hour wash" and no problem until now with blinking 1-8 code again (always at 20 minutes). I replaced fill-valve...no change. I ran a diagnostic wash-with-error-indication using a stopwatch. Several sequences yielded a steady green. At ten minutes, there was a brief drain and water was all out in a few seconds. Next, for three minutes was silence but the red run light was still on. At exactly thirteen minutes, red light went out, cancel light on, 3 minutes of dry drain motor running then 8-1 blink. It seems like the silent three minutes was a timeout from some action that didn't happen. I assume the fill function. I am considering control board possibly faulty. Is that surely it? Also, I have an old w10193578a board. The ribbon cable feels non-removable to finger-pull at control side. Is that true?

I have a Kenmore Elite 13129K. Similar to another poster, my Start button will frequently not work when pressed. All the other keys on the pad seem to work. When I run service diagnostics, I get no error codes, and all the LEDS work when the diagnostic is started. Using my unit's diagnostic sheet, I follow the instructions for checking the Keypad Operation. This sequence: disconnect power-disconnect ribbon cable from control-reconnect power-close door results in a Drain cycle starting - which means CONTROL BOARD IS OK, KEYPAD IS BAD. I then disconnect the ribbon again, and use a diode tester and check all Key Switches for continuity / turn on/off. They all pass the test which means CONTROL BOARD IS BAD, KEYPAD IS GOOD. This is quite the conundrum. I then reconnect everything and the Start button works...for a week or two. I have been doing this for about 6 months hoping something will break. Is there some reservoir of knowledge that would give me a better than 50/50 chance at replacing the Keypad or the Control?? My engineer's brain will not allow me to buy both parts. Thanks for any insight.

Dishwasher parcel filled with water by its self after a power outage. Ran the drain cancel to empty it. The dishwasher responds to the drain cancel button. No panel indication or response to any of the other controls. Checked the thermal fuse and high temp snap switch both ok.

Two problems appeared at the same time. During idle period, with door completely closed, the dispenser latch solenoid start clicking by itself 3 times, then pause, then 3 times, again and again. I told my wife to keep the door unlatched until I look at it. Then I close the soap dispenser and started a quick cycle to investigate. I was surprised to hear nothing about the soap dispenser door, like if it was still working properly. I decided to open the dishwaher door to see if the dispenser was indeed still closed. I reçieved a full jet of water : the dishwasher no longer stops when I open the door. Ctrl board? What about the fire issue some people are talking about?

My jenn-air dishwasher won't run a cycle. Symptoms are that the top shelf button flashes and other buttons do nothing. I cut power and some times the normal wash button flashes. When I restore power and close door it runs what seems like a cancel cycle but it stops and returns to previous state. Control board I suspect?
