This side by side will stop cooling, then I'll adjust the freezer colder control and it will start up. Then, will stop cooling after 3 days or so I'll adjust the same control and it starts and the process starts all over again. From what I've read in most of the questions, thermostats seem to be the problem. Are they difficult to replace?

Hello, my Kenmore side by side has temp control issues. It is a 2nd frig located in the garage. At times the freezer temp will be 15 +/- (it use to be lower than that) & the frig will be in the 30's. Other times such as now the freezer will not go below 20 and the frig might be 40 +. Sometimes the frig will freeze food. The outside temp seems to possibly influence the inside temp. The vent control does open and almost completely close when actuated by the freezer control knob. The unit has very long run times. If I turn the temp control down it will shut the unit off. However, the amount I turn it down greatly varies to get to the shut off point. The temp out of the freezer duct is 20 as compared to my newer Whirlpool of 5. Cond. coils are clean and fans run. Help. Thank you, Mike

Hi. The left side freezer started to fail to defrost itself automatically. I can manually defrost the unit completely by taking the inside back panel and expose the whole radiator-type grill, which was completely covered by ice by the way, and start from zero after 45 mins-1 hr. but after at least 3 days it will freeze again. the timer seems to work fine as I can hear it turn the compressor off once in a while, then had the defroster element tested as well as the thermal disc replaced but it still has that problem. please help thanks

The fridge side of my Whirlpool side by side is now freezing the food. I have not touched the thermostat or blocked any vents before the freezing started today. I now have turned the thermostat to a warmer temp to see if that will help. Refrigerator. temp was set on 3 and freezer was between A and B. I now have the refrigerator. on 2. When I moved it to 2 the compressor shut off and later came back on as the fridge warmed. I have checked the airflow from all vent and everything seem fine. Any ideas? Thank you for your help
