This side by side will stop cooling, then I'll adjust the freezer colder control and it will start up. Then, will stop cooling after 3 days or so I'll adjust the same control and it starts and the process starts all over again. From what I've read in most of the questions, thermostats seem to be the problem. Are they difficult to replace?

Ordered thermostat 2198202. The original part and all the repair videos show the wiring connections being on top and bottom on side of unit. The replacement part, while it looks compatible, has the connectors side by side. How am I suppose to know which wire goes where?

I have replaced the thermostat 2198202. I have to turn the temperature almost all the way off to keep from going below 32 degrees. This is the second thermostat that I have tried and they both act the same. It is the correct thermostat but it is not sending the temp correctly. The old thermostat would hold the temp at the correct place but the points were bad and it would not turn off and on at times. Richard
