There was no wiring diagram provided for the cold control and this is not an exact replacement for the old one. Can anyone tell me which terminal is for power from the wall, and which is the output terminal to the compressor? The original part, the source power was the top terminal and the output was the bottom one. Thank you.

My original thermostat quit working and I installed this new one. I hooked the wires up (all three) and within 1 second of plugging it in, it fried. There's clearly a rattling inside the control now as well as a burnt electrical smell. The power into the control is a constant 120v (as I believe it should be). Did I get a defective control, or is there potentially something else going on? Thanks in advance!

The refrigerator part is freezing things with control unit set to lowest setting and flapper door set to coldest freezer setting. Is this thermostat control the only thing to cause this?
