How do I remove the ice maker? It seems to be held in by something. Where is the retainer, it jiggles, is loose but will not come out

My Kitchen Aid Icemaker has stopped ejecting the ice. There is ice in the bottom. We have removed the unit to thaw. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ice maker not working. Water is not flowing into ice mold. Took hair dryer to black tube and attempted to poke ice out (nothing). I poured water in ice mold expecting that it would eject the ice into bin and that didn't work either. Ice control lights blink twice when door open. When I close the flap the light remains solid red.

Latest Questions

I ordered a new icemaker from you for my KSRS27IHWH00 fridge bought in 2000 because heater on original unit was bad. Have installed the new icemaker 2198597 (AP3182733). It is producing and dumping ice. However it is regularly making only 5 of the 8 cubes. The new icemaker looks pretty much like original one which was an 8 cube, except the fill cup is bigger on the new one...taller...and my black fill tube sticks down into it more. Fill tube is a good 2" long from fitting. My question is does the fill tube length and fill cup have anything to do with how icemaker senses full? If not why would new icemaker only be making 5 cubes?

Just replaced original icemaker with your part AP3182733 complete icemaker assembly. It is very similar to original but noticed the fill cup on new one is larger. The new unit is working (heater was gone on old one) but only filling 5 cubes not 8. I also notice my fill tube appears to be longer than one on video. Does length of tube and new height of fill cup have something to do with how icemaker senses when to stop filling and mine is sensing full too early? My fill tube is prob a good 2" long, original fill cup height is about 1 1/4" on sides, refridg bought in 2000.

The ice maker stopped working. I noticed the tray was full of ice which led me to think it was the heater. I pulled out defrosted and put back into service. It refilled and unloaded one cycle and quit again. Any thoughts?
