How do I remove the ice maker? It seems to be held in by something. Where is the retainer, it jiggles, is loose but will not come out

My Kitchen Aid Icemaker has stopped ejecting the ice. There is ice in the bottom. We have removed the unit to thaw. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ice maker not working. Water is not flowing into ice mold. Took hair dryer to black tube and attempted to poke ice out (nothing). I poured water in ice mold expecting that it would eject the ice into bin and that didn't work either. Ice control lights blink twice when door open. When I close the flap the light remains solid red.

Latest Questions

My icemaker on my Kenmore refrigerator quit working. No ice in the trays and it seems like no water coming out of the fill tube. Water still comes out of the water dispenser without any problem. Any suggestions on what the issue is?

I replaced the ice maker in my side-by-side. I followed your video and removing and replacing the ice maker went without a hitch. It made ice for about 36 hours. Now, the water dripping into the ice maker is overflowing that little tank on the side of the ice maker and flowing all over the contents of the freezer. The teeth on the ice maker seem are up, indicating that they would form ice cubes. Why is the water freezing before it gets to the ice maker? Is this something a 63 year old woman can repair on her own? Or do I need to call a repair person? Thanks

Carol

Hello, I have a Whirlpool Frig, model GD5RVAXVBOO. The icemaker needs to be replaced. It appears the right OEM part # is 2198597. Can you tell me if this is correct? Also do you know the difference between the 2198597A vs 2198597A versions? Thank You..
