I have an old fridge that recently stopped cooling. I can hear it blow air though. The compressor is warm to the touch. I looked online it sounds like it might be a compressor start relay. Can you help me find the correct part number?

I believe the compressor start relay has failed on my roper side-by-side (RS25AEXLQ00). This has happened before due to heavy accumulation of cat hair on the compressor coils. I'm wondering what kit I should purchase: "start relay on compressor": AP30833556 or "compressor starting device kit": AP3885081?

Latest Questions

Had a couple of inches of water in our basement where our 2nd refrigerator is located. It is no longer cooling or freezing. The power is still working and the fan appears to be blowing but not really cool air. Have tried resetting it with cooler off switch and unplugging it but doesn't seem to work. I don't hear a clicking sound I've heard mentioned and the compressor doesn't seem hot. Unfortunately the water issue has happened several times but the refrigerator has alway made it through before. Any suggestions as to what may have been affected - compressor relay switch, compressor? Or where I should start looking? I'll try and deal with the basement flooding. Thanks for any suggestions Paul

I moved this unit to a new location 4 miles away. When I plugged it in in the garage, it tripped the GFI and won't start. The power cord is not damaged. Why won't the unit run?

My side by side fridge stopped cooling last night. Fridge is running. I took back bottom cover off, no wire damage. Coils and fans all clean (I clean 4-6x per year regularly) Compressor is pretty hot to the touch. Starter (?) on side of compressor clicks on, then off after 5-10 seconds. Is the starter my problem? Thanks
