My range stopped working with error code is typically F2:E1 but sometimes also F2:E3. Then it worked again for a couple of days, sometimes beeped as if someone was pressing keys, then failed again. I disconnected the keyboard, cleaned contacts, made no difference. I didn't see cracks at the time. I replaced the electronics which didn't help. Then I realized that the ribbon cable was actually damaged: the traces were completely gone for ~1/16th inch. The ribbon was transparent there and the silverish metal frame behind it showed through, which made it look like the trace was just bare. Haha... The damage occurred where the smaller ribbon cable does a sharp bend over the range chassis, it must have touched and gotten hot. My range is white, I would have purchased a new glass if it was available, but the only choice now is black, which really would be awful. I ended up repairing the missing pieces of trace by applying "liquid solder glue" which costs ~$6 at a local radio shack. Avoid the "solder pens" and get something you can dab on. (You may have to scrape the insulation off a bit of extra trace, it's super thin so be careful) The liquid solder is not flexible once dry, so I had to make sure the ribbon cable doesn't flex during installation. So far it has held for several weeks, including several 500F bakes. Dunno how long it will last, but it also proved that this was the problem. If it fails again soon, I might cut the ribbon cable short and put a new connector on and go from there... Hope this helps someone else...

The start button, seven and nine all three aren't working on the control panel. Everything else is! Is there anyway to clean the contacts for those buttons? What are my options? Thanks in advance:)
