Dryer will not heat up; all fuse have been checked and replaced. heating element replaced as well. drum will turn, but not heat.
Answer Michelle, you didn't mention a model number or type dryer. If the dryer is an "electric" dryer, you need to make sure you have 220-240 VAC to the dryer. You may also have to check the heater relay on the machine control board, inside the cabinet. The relay has to close in order to send power to the element or gas valve. If you need more assistance, please repost your question and include a model number from the serial plate on the dryer. Thanks
Heat element stays on. Even on air dry setting.
Answer Hello Terry. The element 279838 will need to be checked and see if the unit is grounded to metal. If so, it will stay on and does not shut off properly, and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
Can the start button on the dryer be replaced by itself? Also, what would cause the dryer not to start when the start button is pushed?
Answer Ron, the electronic control W10051165 is available separate from the console assembly W10146153. You will have to order one of the two parts to get the start button. Make sure that the door is closing and latching all the way, this will stop the unit from starting as it should. Also make sure it is getting the correct voltage. Hope this helps!
