My Whirlpool side by side will run properly if let alone but if I open the refrigator door when it is about to turn on, it will "click" but not turn. I can disconnect the electricity and wait a while then plug it in and will will click twice and begin running properly. It now will just "click" and cannot start until I disconnect it from power and wait, then plug it back in and it will click twice and begin running properly. What part do I need? Thanks,

Answer Hello Hero, It sound like you will need to replace the main board W10135090 on the unit. The main board controls all the functions of the unit and by unplugging and reconnecting it is allowing the control to reset.

HI: I have a Whirlpool refrigerator (model: GS6SHEXNL00) which the cooling always stay at the lowest level. The control box display and light is not working. No matter I turn the level up or down, it does not change the cooling level at both the refrigerator and freezer side. The freezer side has light, but I cannot freeze anything at all since the cooling level is very minimal. And on the refrigerator side, there seem to be no cooling at all. However, I am able to shutoff the cooling from the refrigerator control knob. Will this be the temperature control board or the main control board issue? Any suggestion will be helpful, thanks!! Answer Pete, based on your post description, you'd want to start at the main control board W10135090, located inside the compressor compartment, in the back of the unit. Once you've got the refrigerator unplugged, also check and clean the condenser coil, and fan blade and motor. Thanks

Opened the door and the refrigerator light and digital setting indicators went out. No problem with the circuit breaker and the interior light bulb tested good. The light in the freezer section was unaffected, both side are cooling normally. This is similar to other reported problem except for the difference between the freezer and refrigerator sections.

Opened the fridge door and the light and digital display's went out and tripped a GFI breaker. Reset the breaker so all outlets regained power but the fridge light and digital display's still did not come on. Replaced bulb with a new one and light and display's are still out. Disconnected the power for 2 minutes, replugged the unit, still, all lights are out but the fridge works fine. Could it be the light switch? Does the switch also control the digital displays? If not, internet research pretty much points to having to replace the main circuit control board. Your thoughts please. Thank you.

Answer Hello Tommy. Test for power to the control box 2255233. If there is power there and the box does not work, replace the control box. If there is no power there, replace the control board W10135090 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. The numerical indicator LED's for the temperature settings are rapidly flashing on the display. This is the only symptom the fridge has, everything works fine. Is this fixed by replacing the control board in the base of the refrigerator or do I need to replace the upper control box that contains the LED's? Thanks!

Answer Hi Steve. First thing is to open the doors and toggle the door switches to see if one is faulty and thinks it is in the closed position. If so then it is part # 1118894. There are cavity sensors which tell the main board current cavity temperatures. If they go out of value, it allows the board to reset in a default mode. The fresh food thermistor is part # 2188819. It is to the right in the controls area. There is a thermistor air seal part # 2261265. The electronic part of the control board is the whole assy. part # 2255233. Thank You.

I opened the fridge and the light came on then went out, same for the temp display. I checked the bulb and it blew. Replaced the bulb and there is a slight dim flicker in the bulb. Still no display. Also noticed a buzzing sound coming from underneath the fridge when the door is open. When I push the door switch closed the buzzing stops. What connectors and pins can I check for voltage and continuity at the Control Box Assembly to determine if its the assembly or the board? Thanks Ole Knowledgeable One. LOL

Answer Hello Lock. If the noise is coming from the control board W10135090 located under the refrigerator, you will need to replace the control board. Test for proper power to the display. If it is not there, replace the control board under the unit. Hope this helps.
