I need to replace the control panel which has started chirping. Is this a do it yourself item? If so where can I get instructions?
Answer John, Yes, this is a do it yourself repair. If you have basic tools and skills it shouldn't be a major concern. Here are the basics :" NOTE: Sharp edges may be present. 1. Unplug the refrigerator or disconnect the power. 2. Open the refrigerator door and remove the items from the top shelf. If necessary, remove the top shelf so you can easily access the touch control assembly or the motorized air door. 3. To remove the touch/display board: a) Remove the three hex-head screws from the back of the touch control assembly and lower the assembly. b) Disconnect the wire connectors from the touch control assembly and remove the assembly from the refrigerator.c) Disconnect the wire connector from the end of the touch/display board. d) Unclip the touch/display board from the locking tabs and remove the board." Reverse the procedure, reapply power and reset the controls and check the refrigerator for operation.
