Our Maytag dishwasher died rather suddenly. Some smoke came from the general direction of the control panel, left black soot on the top edge of the door, and when I removed the control panel cover, the upper right side of the control panel circuit board was also covered with soot. I'm pretty sure I need a new control panel, but I'm curious what may have caused the problem, and don't wish to fry a new control panel. One thing I noticed for the last few weeks was what I thought was some sort of water issue. The inside of the dishwasher began developing what looks almost (but not quite) like rust stains on the inner door, sidewalls, and bottom. Is it likely the staining had anything to do with the fried circuit board? My grandson (he's 4) tells me the problem is the water got too hot and caught fire. I love him a bunch, but I'm doubting him just a little. :)

Went to run the dishwasher. Closed and locked, hit the mode I wanted, nothing. No lights or action from any of the other modes as well. Thank you

The drain pump does not stop after the water is all pumped out following wash or rinse cycles. Just keeps running. Could this be the float switch or float, or is it a control issue.

Latest Questions

The controls are locked out. Pressing the 3 second button will turn the 3 second light on and off, but the cycle lights still blinks the 5 times it says in the manual when the controls are locked out. Is this a control panel issue? Thanks.
