My fridge keeps freezing and making ice wich causes everything to eventualy get warm?
Answer Hello Eric. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
the freezer seems to be freezing fine but fridge is warm. we just moved the fridge. it is said to have worked fine before. what should i check?
Answer Eric, On that unit, if the freezer is fine, then the cold control and evaporator fan are OK, you most likely have an issue with the auto damper
61005993 and/or the air return tunnel cover 61006081. Check and make sure both doors are closing and sealing properly. Remove the crisper drawers and shelves and check the flapper in the return cover for being stuck closed, and interrupting the air flow in the fridge. Then move up to the left rear top corner of the fridge, where the damper is located and check for the air flow into the fridge compartment. Thanks
The fan is been replaced, but the iced keeps building up and is not cooling enough in the cool side. The air is not circulating when is freezes up.
Is it the termostat?
Answer Hello Mario. No, if the fan is not running, it is normal to freeze up because air is not moving. You will need to replace the fan motor if there is power to it and it does not run.
