The lights on the control panel light but the washer will not start. The control panel is relatively new and I can change from one option to the next. I am suspecting the control board but have no way to prove it. Can you help? Thanks

Answer Hello John. You will need to remove the ribbon cable and make sure it is dry and clean. Also, check the door switches on the unit. The board seems to be good if the lights are working. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. The start/cancel button does work, but the upper cycle and option buttons do not. Cleans dishes on a 2 hour wash cycle only. Not sure which control board I need AP4009231 or AP4425079. Latch is broken as well, dishwasher is closed and stuck in lock position. Which latch should I purchase AP4264081 or AP4481280.

Answer James, It sounds like the keypad is faulty on the unit and you would need to replace the control panel 6-919096. For the latch assembly you will need part number W10275768.

The push buttons on my dish washer stopped lighting up and working. At first it was the count down clock that stopped working. Then half the cycle buttons stopped working while the other half keep working. Now nothing is working. Would I replace the control panel or the control board?

Answer Hello Russ. It is best to start with the control panel on the unit. Then if the issue is still there, you will need to the control board as well. The issue you are describing is related to the panel, and sometimes a bad panel can lead to a bad board in the unit.

Lights on display don't work. Front time display went first, followed a week or 2 later by the rest of the lights. Only the "clean" light will light up when finished. Dishwasher runs normally. What should I check or replace? Dishwasher is a 2004 model. thanks.

Answer Bob, You want to start by checking or replacing the control panel/key pad assembly 6-919005. The LED lights and display are a component of the panel. The tech data sheet, should be attached to the back side of the kick plate, you can use the tech sheet and a multi meter to test each button on the keypad, if you wish.

Answer Hello John. If the button is not working on the control panel, you will need to order and replace the control panel on the unit. If the button is good, and the unit will not unlock, you will need to order and replace the control board. If you press the button and light goes off and on as a selection, then the button is good and the board is bad.
