Light on the fridge side quit working, it was making a humming sound, (like a short). The digital temp lights were not working also, removed the bulb and the digital temp lights came back on. Replaced the bulb with a new one but the light is still not working & when the bulb is screwed completly in, the digital temp lights go off but not making the humming sound any more.
Answer Dennis, You will need to carefully remove the light bulb sockets from the liner, and install the bulbs properly, and check for 120 VAC across the yellow and white wires on the socket, wirth the door open. If the voltage is low or non existant, you will need to access the main control board W10135090 (located in the compressor compartment) and check for 120 VAC on connector P2 pin 9 to chassis ground, and P2 pin 3 to ground for 120 VAC, no or low voltage would indicate a defect in the main control board.
The lights and digital display quit working. I replaced the control box, it worked for a couple of seconds and then lights out again. All of the connections seem ok, refrig stays cool, freezer lights and temp are ok. What's next?
Answer Hi Richard. Make sure the 2-pin and the 9- pin molex connectors are tightly inserted. Make sure the pins are not pushing backwards out of the connections as they are being connected. Make sure that the door switch wires are connected to the door switch itself tight . I would use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Make sure you are getting full 120 vac to the door switch from the blk/red wire to the bare ground of the upper door hinge green wire.(under the hinge cap). Make sure that the control board connections themselves are tight. Thank You.
