I need the plastic knob for this washer. The old one cracked. I saw a posting by Evelyn and it sounds like it is the same part. However, she asked if yours (22003987) was platic or metal. The reply was the color was chrome or stainless steel and it never mentioned the material. The color of mine is Champagne. So, the questions are....for $18, am I getting metal or plastic? And, is it going to match what I have in either case? It is hard to imagine a plastic knob is $18?

The temp control does not work. Can I and how do I replace this part?

Answer Hello G. Yes, disconnect the power and remove the back panel off the control panel. Then you will unplug the temperature switch, and remove the knob from it. Release the tab and twist the switch to remove it from the unit. Install the new switch 33002724 in reverse order.

Hello, I need to replace a control knob on my Maytag Ensignia Top Load Washer but my control panel selector knobs are champagne in color. This part/model number is showing the machine as an Atlantis, but my panel says Ensignia. The S/N: is 20144462EA, Model MAV8557AWW. Do you have the Champagne knobs that will fit my washer? If so, I would buy several to have in reserve. Also, are they made of plastic? Wish they were metal like stainless steel. Answer Hello Evelyn! The model listed MAV8557AWW control knobs are part number 22003987. The color is chrome/stainless. Both the MAV8557AWW and MAV8557AWQ models take the same part number for the control knobs. The timer knob is not available as a fully assembled part. If you are needing a new timer knob assembly the part numbers are 22003990 for the cap, 22003952 for the knob, and 22004166 for the skirt. Thanks!
